I intended to have a detailed classification system for my writing based on its purpose, content and length – into blog posts, articles, musings, essays, and so on.
Semantics forced way too many options, and neither some nor all would fit my intentions or aesthetics. This inconvenience led me to discard the idea of having a classification, but rather find one word to emphasise them ‘all’. That would solve the convenience and aesthetics imperative. Now what about intentions?
I personally am very aware of making sure that any piece of my own writing had the veins of critical thinking. That brought me to the ever so pedestrian form of knowledge gathering – I Googled it. And thus, I have come to call them all ‘Essays’.
